Anika Noi Rose, an American singer-actress is best known for her role as Tiana in the movie The Princess and The Frog. She is most famous for her role as Tiana as the Princess, and the Frog's African-American Princess. Disney Legends ranked her one of the 2011 Disney Legends. Rose is well known for her role as Lorrell Robinson, the character from Dreamgirls. Anika Noni Rose (born on the 6th of September 1973) is an American actress and performer. The most famous of her roles was her performance as Tiana her Disney Princess. She is her first African American Princess to appear in The Princess and the Frog (2009). In 2011 she was honored as a Disney Legend. Her name was also honoured for her performance as a character in Dreamgirls (2006), which was awarded an Academy Award for Best Picture. On the Starz show Power she played the role of LaVerne Jukebox Ganner. Alongside her acting skills, she's famous for the roles she performed in theater. These include Emmie Thibodeaux, who played the Broadway version of Caroline or Change (2005) in which she was awarded the Tony Award Best Features Actress in A Musical was awarded as well as Beneatha as part of the Broadway revival of A Raisin in the Sun (2017) where the Tony Award Best Features Actress in Play nominations were announced.
